Habitat for Humanity welcoming Cycle of Hope team

Twenty-seven cyclists and ten support crew members from Manitoba will be making a stop in Lucknow on July 21.

They're members of the Cycle of Hope team and they're riding about 800 kilometres to raise awareness about Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat Resource Development Coordinator, Heather Glenister, says they are riding through Ontario.

“Pretty much down the lake shore into Niagara Falls to raise awareness about Habitat for Humanity and helping local families have the access to affordable housing that they wouldn't otherwise have," Glenister said.

Glenister says they'll be stopping at the recreation centre in Lucknow on Friday.

“They are stopping in Lucknow on Friday, July 21 between noon and 1:30 p.m. and we're going to thank them for what they're doing, the cycling, I think they said they're doing 800 kilometres. So we're just getting together and celebrating the work of Habitat and celebrating the passion and the commitment of these riders," Glenister enthused.

Glenister says they will also have their first Habitat Restore Pop Up shop at the Rec. Centre from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and they're hoping people will drop in and see what they have to offer there. Glenister says the Goderich Bike Shop will be on site from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for small bike repairs.

The Cycle of Hope team will be at the Rec. Centre from noon till 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21.
