Tree theft results in charges

A theft of trees has resulted in charges against a Conn native.

Wellington County OPP were called on July 9 at noon following a reported theft that had just occurred at an address on Sideroad 6 in Kenilworth. Police were told that several trees valued at over $750 were taken from the property.

Officers were given a picture of the alleged suspect vehicle and the license plate. Police were able to locate the vehicle and recover the stolen trees.

As a result, a 24-year-old from Conn has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
