South Bruce Peninsula have lifted their restricted fire zone after over a month.
On June 9, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and the Town of South Bruce Peninsula designated the area a restricted fire zone.
As of June 11, the ban on local fires has been lifted and recreational campfires may now resume.
Despite this, ground vegetation remains fairly dry, and residents setting recreational campfires should be wary and cautious, and always have a means of extinguishment nearby, and ensure the fire is completely extinguished when finished.
Non-recreational open-air burning permits will continue to remain suspended at this time.
