Habitat for Humanity gives keys to new homeowners

Habitat for Humanity held a key ceremony on July 9 for a family that will be moving into their new home in Hensall within the next two weeks.

Winston Bazzano, his wife Nicole and their three children are very excited about moving into their home on Richmond Street North in Hensall. Bazzano says it's taken almost two years to get everything done, and they've been living in the Goderich area. He works in Mitchell, so on top of everything else, the drive to work is shorter.

“Yes, I'm about ten minutes, fifteen minutes closer to work than I was before so it's really a perfect spot for us. I've been in Huron County for about ten years so I know the area pretty well," Bazzano explained.

Bazzano says he moved to Huron County from Toronto about ten years ago and says he doesn't miss Toronto.

“I have some friends in the area and I know a few people around here and was excited when the opportunity came to come here. And the people here have been nice for the last two years so it's getting this going and I've met a few of the neighbours and they've offered their help while being here working outside, so it's actually quite welcoming," added Bazzano.

Bazzano says the house is perfect. It has three bedrooms upstairs and one in the basement, so lots of room for everyone and they can hardly wait to move in.
