Goderich Mayor Myles Murdock say the town has asked staff at B M Ross to look at the town's water capacity over the next few years.
Murdock says they'll be examining data to assure the town that their capacity levels are capable of meeting their needs.
“So they are at this particular point in time, given the potential developments to the south end of town, or the town in general. We have approximately six apartment buildings that have been approved to certain levels, as well as the coast development on the south end of town," Murdock explained.
Murdock says there's also the Bruce Development.
“So the Bruce Development, which is impending, and those are two very large developments. So we're looking at capacity needs for the town for now and in the future and when and if expansion of the facilities is going to be required," added Murdock.
Murdock says they have the capacity for the immediate future but given the development that's on the way it's important that they have the capacity to meet that demand.
