Federal funding supports Hanover outdoor rink

The Town of Hanover received over $10,000 from the federal government to support an outdoor rink at the Kinsmen Ball Park.

The non-repayable contribution of $11,254 through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario will help bring an ice surface back to the park for the first time in over a decade.

Mayor Sue Paterson says the town is thrilled with the funding.

"Not only will this community outdoor rink provide a great recreational opportunity for our local residents, but it will also attract tourists, further boosting our local economy," she said in a release.

Town staff will work with local volunteers to ensure that the rink is well-maintained throughout the winter months.

If you are interested in being a volunteer for the upcoming winter, contact Brandon Dobson at bdobson@hanover.ca.
