Perth County OPP have charged a local youth with assault following an investigation.
Police responded on June 13 after an individual was assaulted at a residence on Ontario Road in the Municipality of West Perth. As a result, a 16-year-old of West Perth was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats- Cause death or Bodily Harm, Assault, Assault Cause Bodily Harm- Choke, suffocate or strangle and Unlawfully in Dwelling House.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 27. The identity of the accused is protected under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
