Live harness racing returns to Clinton Raceway May 21.
Marketing Manager Jessica Carnochan says the 2023 season will see the return of the “Day at the Races” fundraising program, allowing local groups, clubs and organizations the opportunity to host a trackside fundraiser. And this Sunday will be hosted by Central Huron Secondary School.
“So they have a bake sale, a barbecue, a 50/50, and we also have the hillbilly horse races on the track which will feature, I believe, four staff members and then four of their student cabinet members, as well. So they'll be bouncing down the track on their inflatable horses," shared Carnochan.
She says that might be worth the price alone, except that there is no admission. Carnochan says it's free.
“It is free. Free parking and free admission all summer. It's as costly a day out as you want it to be. Obviously we have food and beverages and of course the wagering aspect. But if you just want to come and enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon it is completely free," Carnochan stated.
Carnochan says post time is 1:30 p.m. on Sunday and more details about all of the special events can be found at clintonraceway.com.
