Charge laid in bogus bomb threat

Provincial police say a Howick Township man is facing charges after a bomb threat.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, officers with the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police were called to an address on Mitchell Road South in Listowel that was the subject of a bomb threat.

"The investigation has confirmed the bomb threat as a hoax," police said in a media release issued Monday.

A 31-year-old man from Howick Township is now charged with mischief and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The man is to appear in court in Stratford on June 12.
