The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) issued fourth quarter payments of over $1 million to local towns as part of their Municipal Contribution Agreement.
Centre Wellington received $625,608 for hosting Elements Casino Grand River, the Town of Hanover got $308,918 for Playtime Casino Hanover and the Municipality of Central Huron was paid $143,511 for Gateway Casinos Clinton.
The payments are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“OLG’s Municipal Contribution Agreement payments are building strong communities where people and families can enjoy a high quality of life,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. “These revenues help support local program and critical infrastructure, making a real difference for gaming host municipalities.”
During the last fiscal year, Centre Wellington received over $3 million for hosting their casino, Hanover was issued over $1.3 million and Central Huron received $625,608.
