Arrest made following separate thefts from local businesses

Perth County OPP have laid charges against one person following two separate thefts in North Perth.

Police were contacted on March 12 by a business on Mitchell Road South in Listowel after a person was observed shoplifting. On March 30, police also responded to a reported theft at a business located on Davidson Avenue North in Listowel. In both situations, the same 25-year-old resident of North Perth was deemed to be the alleged perpetrator.

The accused is now facing two counts of theft under $5,000, as well as a charge of failing to comply with a probation order. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 17 to answer to the charges.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
