North Perth moves ahead with 2023 draft budget

North Perth gave the go-ahead for staff to move forward with the draft budget for 2023.

The budget, presented by Councillor Lee Anne Andriessen at the March 8 meeting, brings a 3.6 percent tax levy increase for the average residential and agricultural property in the municipality.

That increase represents a $2.20 per week increase for the average residential property and a $2.77 increase for the average agricultural property.

The draft budget in North Perth will now proceed to a public consultation, which is tentatively scheduled for the week of April 17.

Residents can view the full 2023 Draft Operating Budget Report available on the North Perth website: www.northperth.ca/budget.

Mayor Todd Kasenberg commented on the budget process back in February. You can view those comments here: https://blackburnnews.com/midwestern-ontario/2023/02/02/north-perth-mayor-says-budget-process-still-early-stages/.
