Artist selected for Exeter Mural

The town of Exeter has chosen the artist and the theme of their mural for the Huron County Mural Project.

Exeter was one of five towns chosen for a mural, and BIA Manager Laura Connolly says the artist they've chosen is Tova, and she's also done work in Goderich and Seaforth. Connolly says the goal for the theme of the mural is to capture everything that's unique about Exeter and South Huron.

“One of the biggest features that we have is the river that runs through town, the Ausable River, and of course the trail system that ties into that. Agriculture is huge in our area, as well as our white squirrels, the turtles that are in the river, and we want to try and capture all of it,” she said.

Connolly says the mural will be done at the corner of Sanders and Main Street in Exeter, and there will be a public meeting at the Exeter Library on March 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to give people a chance to provide some input. Connolly says they expect to start work on the mural in late spring and have it completed in about two weeks, depending on the weather. The other communities chosen for a mural were Bayfield, Wingham, Seaforth and Clinton. Bayfield's mural was completed last summer on the wall of the Bayfield Arena.
