Huron County is inviting residents to provide their input into a new Huron County Cycling Master Plan.
Huron County Planner and Co-Chair of the county's Cycling Advisory Committee Jen Burns says they're working with a consultant.
“We are working with a consulting firm to create a Huron County Cycling Master Plan with the hopes to make the county a more comfortable, accessible and convenient spot for folks who like to bike or who would like to get into biking," Burns said.
Burns says Huron County has become a very popular destination for people looking for new places to explore on their bikes. And she says they realize that not all cyclists are looking for the same adventure.
“In creating this plan we are looking to establish new cycling routes, some new trails and connections with crossing so that folks are able to determine what type of ride they would like to go on and where in the county would provide that," shared Burns.
Burns says they're hosting an open house on January 17 from 3 p.m. till 6 p.m. at the Libro Community Hall in Clinton. Burns says members of the Project Team will be available to answer questions and provide information about the work that's been completed so far. They'll also be looking for feedback about preferred cycling routes, as well different types of infrastructure and programs that would improve cycling in Huron County, and looking for input on key destinations in the County that could be promoted and connected as more cycling routes are developed.
Burns says there will be a recorded presentation posted on Huron County Connects after the Open House, and residents can provide feedback until January 31. More information about the Master Plan can be found at connectedcountyofhuron.ca/huron-county-cycling-master-plan.
