North Perth businesses participating in fundraiser for local United Way

Some restaurants in North Perth are holding a fundraiser to help support the Perth-Huron United Way.

On Friday, November 18, eight local North Perth restaurants will participate in the Unite for a Bite campaign, with $5 from every meal purchased that day going towards the United Way's efforts to support the most vulnerable residents across Huron and Perth. Businesses are encouraged to place orders for employees, encourage employees to buy individual $20 meal packs, or buy meals to donate to local organizations. Individual orders are also being accepted.

Participating restaurants include the Atwood Café, Country Style Family Restaurant, Diana Sweets, Holy Guacamole, JoAnne’s Catering, the Kitchen Cupboard, Spice India and Veky’s. The deadline to order meals from participating restaurants is Friday, November 11. Those interested in joining this community-wide initiative can email North Perth Mayor Todd Kasenberg at tkasenberg@perthhuron.unitedway.ca for copies of the marketing package, including the order form.

In 2021, Unite for a Bite was launched as a new fall initiative and sold 650 meals.

“Unite for a Bite is a great opportunity that we have to raise money in North Perth," says United Way Perth Huron Executive Director, Ryan Erb. "So we've got a whole bunch of restaurants that are going to help us out on November 11th. Twenty dollars a meal at local restaurants, with five dollars per meal coming to support the United Way campaign.”
