Theft charges laid in North Perth

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges against two North Perth Residents after being stopped with stolen goods in their possession.

On August 28, 2022, just after 2:00 a.m., Perth OPP officers stopped two males on bicycles on Road 166 in the Municipality of North Perth. The one male was in possession of thick black wire with copper in the middle. Following some investigation police arrested the two suspects. A search incident to arrest revealed more rough-cut wires, Pliers, a hammer, and a hacksaw.

As a result of the investigation, a 43 year old man, and a 55 year old man face charges of Possession Break in Instruments, and - Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Both accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
