Prospective voters around the province are being reminded to respect election signs with municipal elections coming up this fall.
Wellington County OPP say they have received numerous reports of incidents of tampering with municipal election signage and are reminding the public that if sign vandals are caught, they could face charges under the Criminal Code. Police are asking residents to report any instances of election sign tampering or theft immediately to police or Crime Stoppers. This is in anticipation of lawns and public spaces around Ontario becoming annual displays for the upcoming municipal elections in October.
The municipal elections for the next 4 year municipal council terms are slated for October 24th.
