South Bruce Peninsula has announced the first three local businesses that will each be receiving a non-repayable contribution of $10,000 from the My Main Street, Local Business Accelerator program.
This contribution will allow the awarded businesses to support findings from the market research provided by My Main Street to drive economic growth and attract new customers to their business and the entire downtown Wiarton community.
Symon Says and Your Local Meat Shoppe and More have been each awarded $10,000 to support their existing businesses and $10,000 has been awarded to new business Great Ape Empire.
There are up to five $10,000 non-repayable contributions to support existing business and up to five $10,000 non-repayable contributions to attract new business.
“This program provides existing business the support needed post pandemic and provides a financial incentive to attract new business to this recently revitalized downtown district,” said Danielle Edwards, Manager of Economic Development and Communications, Town of South Bruce Peninsula
“A thriving downtown is so important to the local economy, and we are thrilled to be able to support businesses in such a meaningful way,” said Janice Jackson, Mayor of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
