The Victoria Jubilee Hall has many historical items from its history that will be on display at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.
The hall is celebrating its 125th anniversary, and as part of the celebration, many items will soon be on display at the county museum. Those include original tools from 1897 used to construct the hall, a miniature version of the hall and several other important historical items. The exhibit runs the entire month of August. The release shares that "visitors to the museum will learn about John “Jack Black” Douglas who was a two-time Town Reeve and helped construct the hall. Original tools used by Douglas will be on display, just one of the interesting chapters in the history of the hall.
The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is located at 33 Victoria Street North in Southampton. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
