Driver charged following collision with pedestrian

Perth County OPP have charged a driver following a recent collision involving a pedestrian.

On June 3rd at 3:20 p.m., police responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Mill Street East in the Township of Perth East. The investigation indicated that the vehicle had hit the pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver, a 66-year-old Delaware native, has been charged with careless driving.

The accused was issued a Provincial Notice for the offence.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
