Local family legacy fund donates to local hospital foundations

Local hospital foundations have received a generous donation from a family legacy fund.

The estate of Don and Cliff Schultz has donated to foundations in Clinton, Goderich, Seaforth and Wingham.

Each receive a gift of over $500,000.

Don and Cliff were brothers who lived and farmed in East Wawanosh all their lives.

Neither brother married nor did they have any other siblings. When the brothers retired from their farming enterprise, they became collectors of toy tractors, farming memorabilia and full-sized International farming equipment.

The collection grew to over 80 tractors and over 3,000 toy collectables.

Cliff passed in 2013 at the age of 75 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. The collection was then sold at public auction after Cliff’s passing, followed by the farm after Don passed in 2019 at the age of 83.

The generous donation from the Schultz family will be used by the hospital foundations to purchase up to date medical technology and facility improvements.
