Up to 20 centimetres of snow could accumulate in Grey and Bruce counties before conditions improve on Sunday morning.
Environment Canada has issued a snow squall warning for the region and advised that a combination of heavy snow and blowing snow could cause dangerous driving conditions.
A number of road closures are in place.

"Strong northwest winds gusting to 70 km/h will result in visibilities reduced to zero at times," the weather agency said.
Environment Canada has also put a blowing snow advisory into effect for Huron and Perth Counties.
The area won't see as much snowfall, but lake effect flurries and wind gusts up to 60 km/h could persist into Saturday evening.
Motorists are warned to slow down, watch for tail lights, and be prepared to stop during these conditions.
