Local unemployment rate remains unchanged in February

The local unemployment rate in Midwestern Ontario held steady last month.

According to a release from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board, the jobless rate in the Stratford to Bruce Peninsula Economic Region stayed the same as January at 4.6 percent last month. That rate is the second lowest among all economic regions in the province. The provincial unemployment rate remained the same as January, as well, at 6.1 percent, with both rates unadjusted for seasonality. Overall net employment in the region increased by 700, with full-time losses of 500 and part-time gains of 1,200.
