With more snow expected to fall overnight, some municipalities have declared a significant weather events.
Grey County and Huron-Kinloss Township issued an alert late Friday evening advising residents to use extreme caution when venturing out on the roads.
"All road and sidewalks maintained by the Township will be in a 'state of repair' until further notice," a message by the Township of Huron-Kinloss read.
While the alert does not include any road closures, drivers are urged to take their time and be aware that some roads maintained by the county will take longer to fully clear.
"The County of Grey wishes to note that the declaration of a significant weather event is not notice of a reduced level of service or a road closure," county officials stated.
However, Highway 21 between Bruce Road 8 and Kincardine Avenue is closed overnight Friday due to the weather.
Both Huron-Perth and Grey-Bruce counties remain under a blizzard warning as of 9 p.m. Friday. Strong wind gusts between 70 and 90 kilometres per hour are possible which can create hazardous visibility conditions.
An additional 6-12 centimetres of snow could fall by Saturday afternoon. Environment Canada forecasts predict conditions will being to improve Saturday evening.
