Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson says Brockton is receiving $162,816 from the Ontario Modernization Program.
The municipality is receiving $86,496 towards the cost to prepare a new Recreation Master Service and Facility Plan.
The other grant of $76,320 will help the municipality set up a new digital portal for developers that will include E-filing for various applications, listing lands that are available for development, and other helpful information that will improve the process for projects.
Thompson said the two grants will help Brockton move forward in its planning and help them in their continuing efforts to modernize their services.
Brockton Mayor Christ Peabody said the community has experienced a huge increase in population and needs to update its recreation and facility plans. This review will help pave the way for the future of recreation in Brockton.
He added the grant help them expand digital services that will streamline investments into the area.
Since the program began, the province has invested more than $350 million in support of small and rural communities.
