New Long-Term Care information site launched by the province

Provincial Long-Term Care Minister, Paul Calandra, announced a new website this morning that will make finding and learning about long-term care homes easier.

The Long-Term Care Home Finder will bring all the information on long-term care facilities in the province to one site. Calandra says for too long, it's been difficult for families and seniors to find information on prospective long-term care facilities, and this website will fix that.

"A key feature of the website is the home search and map tool. Using the tool you can look up long-term care homes across the province by name, city or postal code. It will give detailed information on wait times, staff vaccination rates, amenities and inspection reports."

Calandra says the website will continue improving, as well, as this initial launch is just phase 1.

"Future phases will have more features based on user feedback. As the website evolves it will include more information on each home. When all the information is in one place, the Long-Term Care Home Finder will be a valuable resource for anyone looking for information about Ontario's long-term care system."

You can access the Long-Term Care Home Finder by clicking here: https://www.ontario.ca/page/long-term-care-ontario?utm_source=newsroom&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=%2Fen%2Frelease%2F1001518%2Fontario-launches-long-term-care-homefinder&utm_term=media

“Our government has a plan to fix long-term care and a key part of that plan is strengthening accountability, enforcement, and transparency in the long-term care system,” Calandra says. “Our new LTC Homefinder brings together all the information families need to make informed decisions about long-term care so they can choose a home that will best meet the needs their loved ones.”

“We are building an Ontario that puts people first, by making it easier for prospective residents and their families to find information about long-term care homes in Ontario,” adds Kaleed Rasheed, Associate Minister of Digital Government. “This online tool is something that Ontarians expect and deserve — a secure and trusted way to access long-term care information, all in one place.”
