Westario Power and Hydro One have both confirmed that numerous customers in Walkerton are experiencing a power outage.
In a release, Westario says the unplanned outage affecting all Walkerton customers occurred due to a "loss of supply from the transmission network." Crews are on-scene addressing the outage, and Westario says they expect all power to be restored by 5:45 p.m. tonight. Hydro One lists 671 customers affected by an outage due to a tree on a power line. They also expect power to be restored by 5:45 p.m.
Westario and Hydro One will provide updates as progress is made on power restoration.
