Weather and travel advisories in effect for Grey-Bruce

A snow squall warning is in effect for the Grey-Bruce area.

Environment Canada expects heavy lake effect snow to develop Saturday evening and last into Sunday afternoon.

The area could see between 15-25 centimetres in that time.

"Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common," the weather agency said in a statement.

Motorists are advised that driving conditions could be hazardous over the weekend.

"Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow," Environment Canada's statement read.

Police in Saugeen Shores are already warning of potentially dangerous driving conditions.
