An Owen Sound based company answered the call when a local food bank made a plea.
Fairmount Security donated a skid of Kraft Dinner to the Owen Sound Food Bank on December 15 after its stock was depleted.
"This comes at such a crucial time," said Alice Wannan of the Salvation Army. "The donations are great but the need is great. After 29 years this is probably going to be the biggest year we've ever seen for need."
"With the help of Billy and Elizabeth Graham at Foodland, they allowed me the opportunity to purchase a skid of Kraft Dinner," said Tom Wheildon, Chief Executive Officer for Fairmount Security Services. "On behalf of myself and my employees, we thought this was a good way to put back in the community at this time year."
The Food Bank offers emergency food to unemployed and under-employed people who are hungry because they do not have enough food for themselves or their families.
