Huron Perth Public Health is reiterating its recommendations as the Omicron variant of COVID-19 is spreading rapidly across the region.
And in a release, the unit states Omicron is estimated to make up at least 30% of all provincial cases.
Public health officials are advising residents to isolate if you come in contact of a COVID-19 case, regardless of vaccination status. All close contacts of a positive COVID-19 case, regardless of vaccination status, are required to self-isolate for 10 days from their last exposure to a case. And to get tested immediately, don't wait for someone from HPPH to be in contact.
Currently eligible groups for a third/booster dose include: adults aged 50 and over, healthcare workers, immunocompromised individuals and First Nation, Inuit and Métis adults and their non-Indigenous household members.

Last week, Huron Perth Public Health teamed up with the Middlesex London Health Unit and Southwestern Public Health to release a Letter of Recommendation.
It listed a number of items including: - limiting indoor social gatherings in private dwellings to no more than 10 people. - all unvaccinated individuals 12 years of age and older should avoid any non-essential indoor contact with individuals who are not part of their household. - and where possible, individuals should work remotely.
