UPDATE: Charges laid in collision involving a pedestrian in Clinton

Updated at 6 p.m.

A 19-year old woman faces charges after a collision involving a pedestrian on the east side of Clinton.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene on Ontario Street (Highway 8) just after 11:40 a.m. Monday. Police say the injured pedestrian, a 16-year old male from Huron East, was taken from the scene to hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the car later attended the Huron OPP Detachment where she was arrested and charged.

Kaylee Snell, 19, of Central Huron faces four charges including:

Fail to Stop at Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm Fail to Reman Driving While Under Suspension Operate  Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

The charges have yet to be proven in court.

The section of Ontario Street that was closed for the investigation was opened to traffic just after 5:45 p.m.
