Stoltz Sales and Service merges with Hub International to form Equipment Ontario

A local equipment dealer is merging with another equipment dealership to create Equipment Ontario.

Stoltz Sales and Service, which has dealerships in Listowel, Mildmay and Elmira, has merged with Hub International to create the new company. Marlin Stoltz, who will serve as the President and CEO of Equipment Ontario, says the merger came about following the closure of a dealer in Barrie that left a big service gap in the GTA region between the two companies.

"It seemed like a natural fit. Our two families, the Hub organization and the Stoltz organization, have worked together over the years, and now this green space between us really brought us together and it really made a lot of logical sense to form one, new organization."

Customers won't see anything different as a result of the agreement, says Stoltz, as the new company will continue operating with the philosophy "small enough to care, large enough to service."

"Our local customers aren't going to see anything change, just a new name on the building, it just made logical sense to come out with a new name. Both families have over 40 years of family heritage, and having a new name gives us a new start. We've always been community focused and we know our customers by name. We never want to just know them by a number. So we call customers by name and know them by name and that's what we mean when we say 'small enough to care.'"

The merger that has created Equipment Ontario will be made official as of December 1st.
