The Rural Ontario Institute is hosting a virtual workshop this week on the growing populations of rural Ontario.
Project Manager, Lissel Hernandez says what they really want to hear is what members of the audience are experiencing in their own communities.
"But the most important part of the workshop is actually hearing from the audience and seeing what they are experiencing in their own communities, because these are really new analysis, we have some data, but we really want to hear from people attending the workshop."
Hernandez says another factor they'd like to examine is to what extent the pandemic has contributed to that population growth and should they expect that to taper off a little after the pandemic.
"We just think that COVID-19 has accelerated that trend, so it could be after the pandemic, maybe it will decrease a little bit, but I don't think it will stop and maybe this is also related with the trend to working from home."
The virtual workshop will be held this Wednesday from 1 till 3 in the afternoon and a link to join in can be found under the events tab on the Rural Institute web site.
