Huron County providing some child care relief

Huron County's Children's Services Department is providing some relief for Huron County parents who have to pay for licensed child care every month.

Huron County Warden Glen McNeil says the county understands the stresses that families of the County experience as it relates to child care.

"So there is one-time funding that is available for the month of October for licensed child care providers,” said McNeil. “Because the licensed child care providers will bill Huron County Children's Services directly and so there's no need for the parents or guardians to be involved with any of the paperwork.”

The new one-time limited funding program provides support directly to families accessing licensed child care at a time when families may be experiencing increased financial burdens due to the impact of COVID-19.

The support for families is being made available by utilizing funds received by The Ministry of Education from the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada.
