Vehicle fire leads to charges

A vehicle fire reported on Saugeen First Nation led to a charge of identity fraud.

OPP from the Grey Bruce detachment responded to a call about a vehicle fire on Bruce Road 13  at 1:45 a.m. Thursday.

Police say firefighters extinguished the blaze and the occupants of the motor vehicle made arrangements to have it towed.

After further investigation, Grey Bruce OPP conducted a traffic stop on the out of area tow truck, and arrested the driver of the vehicle being towed after it was discovered he had provided false identification.

A 34-year old man from Toronto faces charges including identity fraud and has a court date in Owen Sound on September 23.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
