Speeder's vehicle impounded following racing charge in Belgrave

A Blyth resident is facing a charge following a traffic stop in Belgrave on Wednesday.

According to release from Huron County OPP, an officer spotted a pickup truck travelling at a high rate of speed yesterday morning on London Road.

The officer observed the truck pass another vehicle with a speed measured at 50 km/h over the posted 90 km/h zone.

A 64-year-old man faces a charge of Race with a Motor Vehicle, speeding by 50 km/h or more.

He has also had his driver's license suspended for seven days, and a 14-day impoundment of his vehicle is now in effect.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
