Young worker injured in workplace accident in North Perth barn

A young worker has been injured in a workplace incident in North Perth.

Perth County OPP say in a release that just before 10 a.m. this morning (July 15th), they responded alongside Perth County Paramedic Services to a serious workplace incident that occurred at a barn on Line 90, in the Municipality of North Perth. A 19-year-old employee was injured while operating a forklift. The injured worker, a resident of Mapleton Township, was taken to a local hospital, and later transferred to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ministry of Labour was contacted and is investigating.
