Stats show lower than average vaccination rates among younger residents

The number of COVID-19 cases in Huron and Perth remains low and is currently listed at 9 cases on the Huron Perth Public Health website.

Also it in its latest update, Huron Perth Public Health is showing 51.9 percent of those 18 and over are fully vaccinated and over 76 percent have at least one dose.

When the numbers are broken down even further, statistics from HPPH shows only 56 percent of those in the 18-24 age category and 25-29 age category have received at least one dose.

As of July 12, 151,648 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Huron and Perth.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
