Owen Sound police charge man refusing to isolate a third time

Police in Owen Sound have laid more charges against a man accused of violating COVID-19 self-isolating orders.

On Thursday, police say they arrested a 26-year-old man found outside of his residence after he tested positive for COVID-19.

The man was charged with failing to comply with the Health Protection and Promotion act and fined $880.

Again on Friday, officers found the same man out of his mandated self-isolation in the downtown area of Owen Sound. He was charged and issued another $880 fine. According to police, the man has been charged three times in one week.

Additionally, police found two other Owen Sound residents disregarding public health measures. A 38-year-old female and a 28-year-old male were also dealt a charge and a fine for being found in public after testing positive for COVID-19.
