HPPH expands second dose eligibility and clinic options

Huron Perth Public Health is expanding eligibility for COVID-19 vaccine second doses and offering more clinics.

In a release on June 16th, HPPH says large shipments of the Moderna vaccine are expected to arrive in Huron-Perth in the coming weeks. Due to increasing supply, HPPH is immediately expanding booking for second doses to anyone who received their first dose on or before May 9th. The additional supply is also allowing for more vaccination clinics, with some starting as early as next week. Moderna vaccines will also be available through primary care offices and pharmacies. Anyone 18 years and older can book an appointment for a Moderna vaccine.

If you received Pfizer as your first shot and are over 18, you can book a second shot for Moderna, as the two are interchangeable COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. If you had AstraZeneca as your first dose and you are eligible for your second dose, you may choose to either receive a second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, or Pfizer or Moderna.
