Value of seized marijuana in Arthur over $6 million

Wellington County OPP took down a massive illegal marijuana grow op in Arthur.

And the total value of the seized marijuana is in excess of $6 million.

The bust happened on June 4th at a Wells Street West property.

Wellington County OPP officers alongside the Community Street Crime Unit executed a Cannabis Act search warrant at a commercial property. The Perth CSCU, Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team and the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau were also involved.

Authorities seized over 7,500 plants, a large quantity of Canadian currency and marijuana processing equipment.

Police have arrested and charged a 43 and 47-year-old, both from Scarborough, as well as a 23 and 29-year-old, both of Markham.

All four suspects face numerous drug charges and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
