North Perth to begin accepting applications for facade improvement program

Starting June 1st downtown businesses in Listowel, Atwood, and Monkton can apply for facade improvement grants.

North Perth officials say in a release they worked closely with business owners and the community to come up with a program that will support the local economy and improve the quality of life of residents.

Part of the program is the development of Downtown Commercial Design Guidelines that give direction on appropriate improvements that will enhance the characteristics of the municipality's unique downtowns.

Applications open June 1st and you can find more information at northperth.ca.

"Downtowns can be dynamic spaces that strongly support quality of life and attractiveness for community growth," says Todd Kasenberg, Mayor of North Perth. "I'm really delighted with this fulsome first program in our Community Improvement Plan. It represents an investment from this Council in the charm and beauty factor of our communities. We are growing. We mustn't neglect our aesthetic in that growth. I eagerly anticipate the many benefits that will come to our local economy and the creation of handsome places promoting social interactions through this plan and program."
