Person hurt after being thrown from hood of moving vehicle

Police have laid charges following an incident in which a person was thrown from the hood of a moving vehicle.

On May 8th just after 3 p.m., Grey-Bruce OPP responded to report of an injured pedestrian that was thrown from a moving vehicle on Bradley Street, near Grey Street in the Village of Dundalk.

An investigation revealed a person jumped on the hood of a vehicle, and the driver drove off with the person still clinging to the hood. The person was thrown from the hood after the vehicle sharply turned a corner.

The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries, which were treated in hospital.

The driver fled the scene, but police later tracked down and charged a 23-year-old Southgate native with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and Fail to remain.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 8th to answer to the charges, which have yet to be proven in court.
