Provincial police in Grey Bruce are assisting with a murder investigation in Owen Sound.
According to Owen Sound police, officers responded to a report of an altercation in the area of 6th Street East at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Emergency crews arrived and reportedly located a male suffering from serious injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The victim has since been identified as 22-year-old Kody Hunter of Holland Centre.
Members of the Owen Sound Police Service continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Hunter's death under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch with assistance from the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Investigators believe the incident was isolated and say there is no threat to public safety.
