Bruce County's Corporate Services Committee has eliminated Vacant Unit Rebates and Vacant and Excess Land Subclass Property Tax discounts.
According to published highlights from the recent Bruce County Council meeting, the change is effective for the 2022 taxation year.
The Corporate Services Committee recommends that all local municipalities in Bruce County enact these changes by passing a local municipal by-law.
Using 2020 assessment numbers, an additional $36,383 would be collected from those affected properties.
