Application deadline for Huron Heritage Fund approaching

The deadline for applications in the latest round of Huron Heritage Funding is fast approaching.

May 1st is the latest deadline for individuals and organizations to submit applications for the Huron Heritage Fund. Established in 2007, the fund, according to a recent release, is "to encourage the preservation of heritage assets and activities of heritage importance to the County of Huron and its residents."

Over the years, projects have used the funding to support the Van Egmond Foundation, Bayfield Historical Society, local historical publications and restorations to St. Joseph’s Kingsbridge Community Centre.

Huron County will contribute up to 50% of a project's cost to a max of $5,000 based on the applications they receive. Projects must help preserve or restore historical buildings, heritage landmarks or objects of historical significance that are not owned by the county. Heritage based events and publications also qualify.

For more information on Huron Heritage Funding or to submit an application, visit https://www.huroncountymuseum.ca/huron-heritage-fund/.
