Police chase in North Perth leads to charges

Police have laid charges after a chase in North Perth that involved the OPP's canine unit and Emergency Response Team.

On March 11, police say an officer tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle travelling on Line 57 near Monkton in North Perth.

The vehicle didn't stop, ran a stop sign and hit a police cruiser before going into a ditch on Perth Road 164. The driver then fled and broke into a nearby garage.

A 25-year old man from Mitchell faces a number of charges including flight from a Peace Officer and two counts of failure to comply with probation.

The charges have not been proven in court.
