Bayfield group preparing for outdoor film festival

The President of the Bayfield Centre for the Arts says they're excited about launching their first film festival this summer.

Leslee Squirrell says they hope it will become an annual event and it will take place on August 26th and 27th.

“This year we're going to be celebrating the first movie ever filmed in Bayfield this past October. That movie is called Trigger Point and it was directed by a Bayfield, born and raised local boy, Brad Turner,” said Squirrell.

Squirrell points out the event will be COVID-friendly.

“And to that end, the first Bayfield Film Festival will be held as an outdoor film festival, with a huge inflated screen and we will be facilitating the event on the Agricultural property beside the Bayfield Arena and so it's all outdoors," added Squirrell.

People will be invited to bring their own lawn chairs and sit in safely-distanced areas and enjoy an outdoor movie.
