Work on Port Elgin sports park expected to start this month

Work on a new outdoor sports complex in Port Elgin will start before the end of the month.

Saugeen Shores approved the contract for Phase One of the Lamont Sports Park last night.

Anthony Furlano Construction was awarded the Phase One contract and it includes four ball diamonds and infrastructure for future phases. The bid was $5,319,233 and it was the lowest of five bids.

Another $55,000 for sand point well irrigation and port-o-let enclosures to ensure continuous irrigation even during droughts or watering restrictions.
