More COVID-19 Variants confirmed in Midwestern Ontario

On Monday, The Grey Bruce Health Unit added two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, one in Southgate and one in Kincardine. There are now seven confirmed cases involving variants in Grey Bruce, one from Brazil and the other six are reported to be the South African Variant. The Health Unit said five of those variant cases are active. In all, there are 16 active cases, and one hospitalization

Huron Perth Public health reported ten new cases of COVID-19 confirmed over the weekend. Eight of the new cases are in Stratford.  There are 23 active cases. Three people are in hospital.  There are no outbreaks. There are two probable variants in Huron Perth.

Public Health officials in Wellington County added eight new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend. There are 19 active cases, and six newly resolved cases.  The outbreak at Wellington Terrace in Fergus is over but Royal Terrace Long Term Care in Palmerston is still in outbreak mode.  Across the Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health Unit, 43 new COVID-19 cases were added over the weekend, and 123 cases are active.  45 cases were newly resolved.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
